Digital Library on the Web
Organizing the information in the form of multimedia Digital Libraries on the Web
provides an easy access to reference and educational materials.Lectures, training sessions
can be recorded and broadcasted on the Internet - as slide presentations accompanied by
voice of the speaker and short movies for "show and tell" instructions. The
audience for such video on demand broadcasts can be not only users in large offices on
Intranets, but also anyone, anytime, anywhere - even in the smallest and far-away
community - as long as they have access to the Internet (only 28kb modem required) and
have a Web Browser.
Here are the samples of general interest lectures and presentations, featuring video
and audio on demand multicast.
Data storage for the digital library includes hard drives and CD-ROM Changer Tower.
Part of these presentation has been recorded and encoded in the RealAudio andRealVideo
format. To receive the multimedia broadcast you need a computer with the sound card,
loudspeakers, at least 28.8k modem and a free Real Player
